Josie Brooks Photography and the creative team's vision in creating this editorial at The Clay Theatre was to complement the stark lines and elements of Art Deco art and architecture with organic, softer textures found in nature. Planner Your Plan A Events used both vivid jewel tones mixed warmer neutrals and mixed metals to help bring together vintage and modern styles. Makeup by Tye Beauty was kept natural, yet elegant to tie in with the stunning wedding dress by Tara Lauren from One Bridal Boutique,
"We wanted to repeat the vertical lines found throughout the venue space in design and decor elements such as stationery by The Moxie Workshop and Minted Weddings, furniture patterns, attire,as well as accessories." Textural elements were introduced through the stunning florals by El Camino Blooms and the brighter hues contrasted the earthy tones of the tablescape. Hand dyed linens from Mosshound Designs complemented a tonal table setting by Luxe Party Rentals (and even perfectly matched the soft tones of the Liberty Bakery desserts!)
In creating a spin on 1940's style, photographer Josie Brooks also wanted to tie in modern elements of spending the entire day together with your love and embracing that heartfelt feeling of true joy from the moment the couple had the opportunity to enjoy the day together. "By capturing 'getting ready, all the way through to the "exit" in the Buick Riviera, we wanted to show these two were meant to last just as much as the styles they were embracing!"
