What would you like couples to know about you?
I’m Georgie! I predominantly shoot weddings however, I'm not one to say no to a cheeky elopement or a couple's shoot. The experience I give my couples as a wedding photographer is very unique. Each couple is gifted a wedding handbook that provides a lot of helpful information. That way my clients can feel fully prepared and confident knowing we’ve done everything possible to set them up for amazing photos and a fun, stress free day. The handbook includes timeline advice, time coverage for each component of photos, details to photograph, getting ready advice, ceremony tips and tricks, family shot lists, FAQ's, wedding vendor recommendations and so much more.
Where are you based?
I am based on the Yorke Peninsula in South Australia but 95% of my weddings involve me travelling more than 2 hours away from home. The majority of my weddings that are in South Australia are in the Clare Valley, Barossa Valley, Adelaide Hills and McLaren Vale regions that surround the states capital Adelaide.
Do you travel for weddings?
Yes, I sure do! I have shot weddings all around Australia and I’m heading to Europe in June/July 2024, so be sure to get in touch if you’d love to have me capture your special day.
How would you describe your style?
I would describe my style as modern romantic and I capture weddings in both an editorial and journalistic way with a stylish, fun and dreamy feel. I’m always aiming to romanticise the in-between moments and love to throw in a few shots with editorial magazine glances.
How would you describe your working style?
A theory that sums it up well (and a fun name I have given myself) is I have a Fairy Godmother approach. I am a fly (or fairy) on the wall for most of the day but will always be there to assist couples when they need me. I’m often told by couples that I made them feel comfortable immediately and that their family and friends loved me. I think this comes down to my slightly silly personality, that I love to have a laugh and a good time and my ability to match people’s energies. When my couples feel like they can be themselves it allows my imagery to reflect who they really are. My eye for detail and my knack for seamlessly immersing myself in the midst of their guests cheeky antics also becomes a powerful asset to the storytelling of their day.
What is your most memorable career moment?
I have witnesses so many special moments and connections while photographing weddings that are always so memorable. However, one I always reflect back on is one that happened organically while travelling. I was on the beach in Positano on the Amalfi Coast with my camera in hand and I spotted a couple having a moment on the beach. They were adults who were acting like children, messing around and being playful by the water just living their best lives, so in love. I took a photo of them, and they spotted me and then we got chatting. I then offered to do a couples shoot with them in the water and they said yes! Picture aqua Mediterranean waters with the gorgeous Positano colourful architecture in the background. We then drank cocktails together on beach chairs and exchanged life and travel stories. It was a dream!
Do you shoot digitally, on film or both?
I shoot both! I love to give my couples the opportunity to have their wedding documented in a format that has a different feel to digital images. One of my packages includes film, otherwise couples can add it on as an extra.
What is a favourite product or service that you offer and why?
One of the most cherished personal touches, which never fails to delight my couples, is the Polaroids I gift them from their wedding day. These photos have an exquisite vintage allure and sense of nostalgia that beautifully highlight the essence of their special day.
Where would you love to travel to for work?
Travel is a big part of who I am and I love doing it for work. Which is why I have a Travel Bucket List on my website. If a couple is the first to book me for a wedding in any of the listed locations or venues, they can get $300 AUD off their package price. These include places such as The Whitsundays, Byron Bay, Queenstown, Lake Como, Sicily, Santorini, Milos, Dubrovnik, Mallorca, Palm Springs, Bahamas, Oahu, New York City and Bora Bora.
Who is your dream client?
Couples who love to have a good time and can’t wait to get on the dance floor! The lovers who appreciate my art and the significance a picturesque venue and stylish details have on elevating the storytelling of their day. And those who have a passion for fashion and aren’t afraid to set their own trends.
