Using a blend of both an editorial and documentary styles, Eloise Lake approaches each wedding day with intentionality in capturing the simple and grand, the noticed and unnoticed and the most important actions as well as the smallest of reactions. She aims to connect authentically with each couple and gift them with honest and beautiful images of their love story. Eloise Lake is based in North Carolina and is currently taking bookings for 2026 weddings in the Mediterranean.
What would you like couples to know about you?
I capture it and value it all. When I’m photographing, I’m commonly documenting the "in between’s” and those moments that you didn’t realize were special until you are reliving them in a photograph. I’m also an artist at heart and so I love working with couples who want to get creative in terms of décor, style, and aesthetics of the day.
Where are you based?
I’m based in North Carolina and beyond!
Do you travel for weddings?
I do! I am open for travel for 2026 weddings.
How would you describe your style?
Artistic, attuned, intimate, romantic, nostalgic, raw, passionate, and vibrant.
What is your most memorable career moment?
Becoming partners with The Anti-Bride! The Anti-Bride was the only publication I submitted Marlaina and Brandon’s wedding to because I resonate so well with the weddings they showcase, the clientele they attract, and feel connected to the fact that being different, and unapologetically you on your wedding day is what Anti-Bride values.
What inspires you?
Human connection, high sun, Mediterranean landscapes, unique and artistic fashion, and most importantly…the deepest of love stories.
How would you describe your working style?
Easy going, attentive to the details, encouraging, supportive and creative.
Do you shoot digitally, on film or both?
I currently shoot digitally, even though my photograph resembles film photos heavily. This is the first year I’m experimenting with film and leaning into it. I hope to start incorporating it in my work very soon!
What is a favourite product or service that you offer and why?
For couples that book with me, I offer them a polaroid album of their wedding day the evening of their wedding. This way, they have physical photographs to hold onto while waiting for sneak peeks! I think film photos and polaroids are as raw as you can get in capturing the present moment and like to offer that to each couple as a wedding gift!
Where would you love to travel to for work?
I’m most passionate about traveling to warm climate countries or states that have beautiful organic landscapes in Spain, Italy, Greece, but really anywhere that has impressive and romantic landscapes or architecture!
Who is your dream client?
My dream client is someone who brings an artistic energy, is fashion-forward, and wants to step outside of the normal constraints of weddings! This could mean encouraging all the guests to all wear white or eclectic patterns, using fruits and vegetables as a tablescape instead of flowers, or having everyone sit in a circle around them during their ceremony instead of in rows. Being different is something that sparks a passion in my work and I love anything that feels untraditional because I believe it brings an energy of solidarity between the guests and the couple as they step out of their norm, just to celebrate you.
What is your advice to couples getting married?
Care less about perfection and care more about connection. Prioritize less a strict timeline and things running completely smoothly and prioritize more documenting the day as is, with all its imperfections, quirks, and surprises. Trust that I will make it all into art for you.
