Tell us about your business!
My name is Siana Siliquini and I’m a photographer based in Adelaide, South Australia! I developed a love for photography, art and design from a young age. My family is full of creatives, and when my grandparents handed down their Olympus 35mm film camera, I began to experiment with photography.
I have been photographing with film and digital ever since I can remember, and in the past 5 years, I’ve been lucky enough to do it in a professional capacity. Photographing everything from food, commercial and event photography, I recently decided to make a segue into wedding photography with my freelance business.
With over 6 years of experience working in hospitality as well, I truly found my niche in wedding photography. With the mix of the high paced environment and photography, I found my passion.
I love to capture the quiet moments, and crazy moments, life as it is, and people as they are.
What would you like couples to know about you?
I’d love couples to know that I am friendly, honest, and I love to have a laugh. I make it my number one priority to not get in the way, as my photography style is more candid and documentary approach, I like to capture your movements and emotions as and when they happen.
I really do love doing this, so it’s important for my offerings to be affordable as well as offering a highly elevated and curated gallery. If you’re smiling, I’ll be smiling and if you’re crying, chances are I’ll be crying too!
Where are you based?
I am based in Adelaide, South Australia.
Do you travel for weddings?
Yes I do! I recently traveled to Europe to photograph my friend's wedding in Sardinia and would love to travel more.
How would you describe your style?
I’d describe my photography style as documentary, candid and almost journalistic.
What is your most memorable career moment?
My most memorable career moment was the opportunity to fly to Europe this year and photograph my friend’s wedding in Sardinia.
A special mention to all the beautiful memories I’ve made, photographing my family and friend’s events and special days.
What inspires you?
I am forever and always inspired by photography of all kinds, however it is the photos that are taken as if you were a friend, or a sister or a fly on the wall that are the greatest.
I’m also lucky enough to work full-time for a creative agency and the dynamic landscapes and people I get to photograph constantly inspire me! Its a blessing to call what I do work and wake up every day to be inspired by the people I work alongside.
I also love architecture, graphic design, music and art - which all play a big part in my work.
How would you describe your working style?
I’d describe my working style as organic, free-flowing and understanding, allowing the moments of orchestrate themselves. My experience in hospitality has taught me to adapt to the environments around me, which I have found very helpful on wedding days as there is alot of moving parts. I love a smooth running day as much as the next bloke, so it’s important to me to have open communication with my clients and build familiarity leading up to the wedding, understanding their important moments they want captured.
Do you shoot digitally, on film or both?
I shoot on digital and film (but shooting on film is my favourite). I also shoot videos on digital and VHS, as if your Dad brought his handy cam and is running around the party like a headless chook!
Do you have custom packages according to individual needs?
Yes, of course! I do have a couple different packages which offer different hours and offerings. However, I am always willing to create a custom package for weddings that fit outside the box.
Where would you love to travel to for work?
I’d love to travel more around Australia for weddings! I love living in Australia and we have such beautiful wedding venues that would be an honour to travel to and capture one day!
Who is your dream client?
My dream client would be a couple that is authentic, trustworthy and loves a good laugh.
What is your advice to couples getting married?
My advice for couples getting married is communication! I know it’s a cliché but it’s true and I live by it every single day! No matter what it is, talk about it and listen to each other.
