PHOTOGRAPHER | Zach Barron

Based in Atlanta, Georgia, Zach Barron is a documentary photographer working primarily with analog film. Zach Barron hopes to create photographs that bottle up the feeling of each moment, creating keepsakes that are honest and a reflection of the couples he photographs.

Where are you based?

I’m based in the Southeast and call Atlanta, Georgia home.

Do you travel for weddings?

I sure do! Whether it’s across the world or down the road, I’m grateful to experience the places that are meaningful to my clients.

What inspires you?

Old photographs, evening sunlight, slow living, warm colors, and human connection.

What motivates you to do what you do?

When I was a kid, I spent some time living with my grandmother and one of my favorite things to do was look through all of her scrapbooks of our family memories. As I got older, I learned that I find an incredible sense of purpose in preserving memories for people and their loved ones. At the end of the day, my goal isn’t to just provide you with beautiful photographs, but create keepsakes that you can cherish for the years to come.

How would you describe your working style?

My approach is laid-back and documentary focused. I often joke that photographing weddings is a lot like people watching, and honestly it’s not too far from the truth. I embrace spontaneity and aim to capture not only the planned moments but unexpected ones too.

Do you shoot digitally, on film or both?

I shoot primarily on film, with a little digital mixed in. Film captures light in extraordinary ways and takes you back to the feeling of each moment.

Do you have custom packages according to individual needs?

Yes! After we connect, I’ll create a custom package that is tailored to best suit your plans.

What is a favourite product or service that you offer and why?

I include a collection of prints with all of my packages and encourage my couples to look at these before viewing their gallery online — seeing, feeling, and reliving your day through printed photographs is such a special experience.

Where would you love to travel to for work?

A few places on my bucket list are Antigua, Tokyo, and Nantucket!
