Tell us about your business!

We're three female photographers, Cecilia, Nieves and Aida. We have worked together for ten years now and truly, deeply love what we do! Our main work is weddings, though we also work in other areas of photography. Our brand has always been intertwined with the fashion world: we love it and we’ve been shooting fashion campaigns for different brands almost since we began in the industry. We’ve worked for Zara, Dior, Tory Burch, Quicksilver and other brands, and also published in Vogue, Condé Nast Traveler, Vanity Fair, AD and other media. We like to think this is evident in our work: our love for fashion and our background in a more stylish kind of photography, which blends organically with the more documentary side of wedding photography. We’re often contacted by brides working in the fashion industry, which is a great match for us.

What would you like couples to know about Días de Vino y Rosas

It’s just us three! We’re not a big company, and all our weddings are captured by one of us and, if needed, a trusted second photographer. We three manage our socials, answer the emails, get all the paperwork and invoices done, make the calls with potential clients and go to the weddings. We’ve created our way of working together and have evolved together, and it’s important for us they know there’s never a stranger on the other end that they’ll never find an unknown principal photographer in their wedding. We're three women in deep love with what we do, and even if it’s a lot of work, we have always preferred managing everything ourselves.

Where are you based?

We are based in the north of Spain, Asturias and Basque Country, and from there we are happy to travel to every corner of the planet.

Do you travel for weddings?

Resounding yes! We’ve covered beautiful weddings all around Europe and also in Morocco, Colombia, Canada, USA, Mexico. Of course, every corner of Spain too. Next year is already getting full of interesting destinations. We love to discover places and new venues.

How would you describe your style?

Although our roots are in fashion, cinema is a constant source of inspiration for us. We describe our style as European, with a natural and unpretentious approach to photography that seeks to excite, inspire, and touch the viewer’s emotions. With a strong aesthetic vision and a focus on storytelling, each of

our images is a unique story in itself. Our work blends minimalism and Baroque, disorder and chaos, elegance and spontaneity to create images that achieve to be both timeless and spontaneous. We love to have fun with photography, to experiment, and to search for new angles and points of view. Our goal is to create memories that will last a lifetime. We are passionate about film photography for these very reasons: it never fails to feel true and eternal.

Our top priority during a wedding is to make our clients feel comfortable and secure, knowing that we will be there to capture every moment of their special day. We believe that the key to great photography is to make our clients feel at ease and to capture the beauty of the simple moments that make up their special day.

What is your most memorable career moment?

We’ve been talking these days trying to decide on this, but we always end up remembering different funny moments in different situations. One more serious and recent moment that stands up was being selected to appear in Forbes in its list of most influential people in the wedding industry!

What inspires you?

As we mentioned earlier, we try to find our inspiration outside the world of weddings: in fashion photography, cinema, art, music, fanzines and travelling. We are inspired by so many different things. By Sofia Coppola, Vogue Portugal, Rosalía, Roger Deakins, Cartier Bresson and his decisive moment, Paolo Sorrentino, Sorolla, Canada’s and Taylor Swift's music videos, Cecilie Bahnsen.

How would you describe your working style?

We're all about chasing the moments and always trying to make everything as spontaneous as we can. We of course direct our couples at some key moments (during their shooting and family portraits, and we usually make recommendations about the best spots to get dressed, to do the first look, etc.) but we try to capture the emotions and events surrounding us, rather than trying to control them. We think our style is a mixture of editorial style and documentary.

Do you shoot digitally, on film or both?

Both! We have always preferred film for our personal archive, but we usually do a mixture of both formats in our weddings. They both are beautiful and useful in their own, different ways!

Do you have custom packages according to individual needs?

Yes! Couples: ask away! And please let us know a bit about your plans and yourselves in the process. We love getting to know you!

What is a favourite product or service that you offer and why?

Film, for sure. As we said before, we have always loved film, and we're thrilled to see it flourish in professional weddings. Not many years ago we were so worried about factories closing their doors and having to say the final goodbye to our favourite cameras. We are beyond happy to see film photography getting the love it deserves!

Where would you love to travel to for work?

We truly love travelling, so just choosing one destination is difficult for us. We love the special brightness of Portugal’s light, the charisma of every corner of Italy, the beauty of Paris, the contrasts of Los Angeles. That’s some of our favourite destinations to this day, but we’re so willing to discover more!

Who is your dream client?

The enthusiastic ones, always. A couple that is unashamedly happy to organise a party for themselves, smiling big and tearing up. We also appreciate the aesthetic part of this whole thing: the decoration, the details, the dresses! As fashion lovers, a beautiful gown always gets our creativity going.

What is your advice to couples getting married?

Have fun! Remember that you’re organising a very special party, one in which you’ll surround yourself with your closest ones, but never forget that that’s what it is: a party to celebrate your love, your relationship and your happiness. It’s sometimes a difficult task, but don’t let anyone stress you about the non important things! Everything will look beautiful even if some decoration is not in its place, the venue will manage to iron out any problem with the seating plans, and you’ll have an amazing time whether it’s rainy or not - believe us, we’ve seen it. Just choose and trust professional vendors whose work you truly like and let yourself enjoy the party while we do our thing!
