What would you like couples to know about Slow Picture Studio?
Our duo project was born while we were having breakfast in one of our favorite bars in Trastevere. We met at photography school and that's where we decided that photography would play a fundamental role in our lives and in our friendship. We promised ourselves that we would always work with discretion and with immense respect for what we observed. And of course, we promised ourselves to have fun and continue creating crazy playlists for our trips!
Where are you based?
Cristina lives in Rome and Agnese in Orvieto but we are always with our suitcase in hand, living in the center of the country allows us to easily reach venues around Italy.
Do you travel for weddings?
Yes, for work we travel throughout Italy and sometimes we also have the honor of capturing our clients abroad.
How would you describe your style?
Our style is the result of all the photos of Luigi Ghirri that we looked at for hours, the large spaces and soft colors are certainly dictated by our love for him. We definitely drew inspiration from the poetry we admired in Rinko Kawauchi's photos. It is from her that we learned to observe atmospheres and emotions under the microscope. We also took inspiration from what is more pop and impromptu: we obsessively browsed through all the photos of our families and tried to understand the immense power of memories and it is this, in particular, that has the greatest role in the style of our photography.
What inspires you?
Art, cinema and music - and of course, funny puppy dog videos.
Do you shoot digitally, on film or both?
We shoot both digitally and film and we also like Polaroids. When we shoot film, we then love to print the images in black and white in our darkroom.
Do you have custom packages according to individual needs?
Sure, we have different solutions for different kind of weddings.
Where would you love to travel to for work?
Realistically speaking, we would absolutely love to photograph a wedding in NYC. Dreaming a little, it would be wonderful to go back in time and photograph a wedding in Paris during the Belle Epoque.
Who is your dream client?
Just before scrolling through these pages, they bought a ticket for a music festival, they have a colorful designer object and an old book next to their computer, they has several plants in the living room, are kind and love to travel. If they think about their wedding day, their heart explodes with emotion.
What is your most memorable career moment?
When the mother of a bride, weeks after the wedding, drove an hour to bring us the wedding favor she had forgotten to give us!
