Tell us a little about yourselves!
Brooke is a Bridal Makeup Artist who operates a makeup studio out of Portobello, Edinburgh. She previously worked in projects but has been a full-time makeup artist for well over 5 years now.
Callum is a Software Engineer working for a tech company in Edinburgh when he’s not creating the next big app for Brooke on the side.
They live together in Portobello with their 2 cats and mostly enjoy watching TV, playing video games and going out for dinner.
They met during Brooke’s project days when Callum was one of the engineers implementing the work she managed.
Why did you decide to get married where you did?
With Brooke being a bridal makeup artist she has seen almost every single venue in Scotland, so she was intent on doing something different to anything she’d ever worked prior.
She one day saw a TikTok of someone eloping in Rome and sent this to Callum - quoting that she had to do this!
How many guests did you have?
Around 25 including our wedding vendors.
What was your budget?
We didn’t put a specific budget on everything however, we did focus most of what we did spend on getting the best suppliers, attire and accessories.
Tell us about your outfits.
Brooke wore Keeya from Calla Blanche and she got this from Sophia Grace Couture in Edinburgh along with her veil. Accessories were important, so she paired her dress with Loeffler Randall bow mule kitten heels, a Vivenne Westwood necklace and Prada tortoise sunnies.
Callum kept it simple and elegant and wore a black tux.
What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?
The most important part was the photographer and ensuring the vibe was there with the outfits!
Were there any elements that were important for you to incorporate?
For Brooke it was a statement Vivenne Westwood necklace!
Any tips for couples getting married?
Hire a private hire taxi for a couple of hours if you are getting married in Italy instead of getting taxis! It was so much more efficient.

From the moment we started planning our wedding, we knew photography would be one of the most important decisions we made. I had admired Meg’s work for a long time, having had the absolute privilege of seeing her in action while working weddings as a makeup artist. There was no question in my mind—Meg was the first person I reached out to, even before we set a date.
