Why did you decide to get married where you did?
We wanted something easy and convenient for our family. The Calile is absolutely stunning, so it was a no brainer for us.
How many guests did you have?
12 guests – just immediate family and a couple of our closest friends.
Tell us about your outfits.
I wore the Sasha dress by Danielle Frankel, the Loro Piana L19 bag, vintage Givenchy earrings and ASOS heels. My wedding outfit came together so easily, and I absolutely loved it! I really didn’t want to get caught up trying to find ‘the perfect dress’. I saw the Danielle Frankel online a few days after Matt proposed, ordered it on impulse, and absolutely loved it.
Matt wore a bespoke black suit from MJ Bale, as well as heirloom gold cufflinks and watch from his late grandfather.
What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?
We didn’t want to spend too much time worrying about details. We didn’t bother with having invitations made up or creating a seating plan, we simply told our family where to be and when, and that was it. Organised everything in one day.
We’d planned to tie the knot on the private terrace attached to our suite at The Calile. Of course, it started raining right as we were about to kick off, so Matt, Harley from Bulb Creative and Josh from Elopement Collective pushed all the suite furniture aside and brought everyone in to have the ceremony right there in the living space. It was fun and unexpected, and we love it.
Were there any elements that were important for you to incorporate?
We just wanted an intimate, stress-free day that allowed us to just enjoy every moment together.
Any tips for couples getting married?
Don’t feel pressured to abide by typical wedding traditions/norms. Some of our favourite parts of the day were ‘non-traditional’ - We got ready together, we exchanged our vows privately, and we walked into our ceremony together, hand in hand. Do what feels true to you as a couple.
Are there any vendors that you would like to tell us a little more about?
Our photographer, Harley from Bulb Creative was the absolute best! Matt and I aren’t the most comfortable in front of a camera, however Harley made it so enjoyable. We were just able to have fun with it.
