Real Wedding | Edeline & Andreas

Tell us a little about yourselves!

We’re Edeline and Andreas, two Indonesian graphic designers who met in our college dorms over a decade ago and slowly went from classmates to best friends to life partners. Our shared love for good design, food, music, and meaningful moments has shaped so much of our life together. San Francisco has been our home for the past 10 years. We’ve built a community of incredible friends here, and our wedding was a reflection of everything we love—bringing people together, celebrating creativity, and capturing the good vibes that make life so special to us.

Why did you decide to get married where you did?

We both love San Francisco; it’s such a beautiful city with so much to offer. We enjoy strolling around town, catching sunsets, going on hikes, and attending music events. The balance between nature and city life inspires us every day, and we wanted to reflect that in our wedding.

Our ceremony was held at the SF Botanical Garden, in the perfect spot at Redwood Grove. It felt truly magical, surrounded by towering trees and the sound of birds chirping. We are so happy to host our reception at Moongate Lounge. The space has stunning decor, an amazing ambiance, and delicious food that made the evening truly unforgettable.

We ended the day with an after-party at Foreign Lens, in the basement of their gallery space, where our DJ friends kept the energy alive with trance and techno all night. The whole day was a perfect reflection of our vibe and what we love about this city.

How many guests did you have?

Tell us about your outfits.

For our wedding outfits, we aimed for untraditional yet timeless choices that reflected our values of practicality and design. My outfit featured the Cecilie Bahnsen  Gianna Top paired with the Gemini Skirt, both in white organza with a subtle silvery shimmer. I loved the idea of something I could wear again, rather than a dress that would only see one day. To complement the look, I chose Jimmy Choo metallic leather slingback pumps and a Coperni silver ring swipe bag, tying everything together with a silver-toned theme. For a touch of romance, I wore a long organza ribbon veil, also from Cecilie Bahnsen. Andreas opted for a custom Suit Supply three-piece suit in warm brown, styled with a Zegna black silk tie and Toga Virilis black double monkstrap shoes, for a classic yet cozy feel.

Our rings are custom-made by Aeri Go, a New York-based jewelry designer known for organic, nature-inspired shapes, and they’re truly unique. My engagement ring and wedding band are designed to stack together, with curved, bubbly shapes instead of traditional straight bands. Andreas’ wedding band, in white gold, features subtle textures that add character while remaining understated. Together, our rings symbolize a blend of nature and modern design, tying into the aesthetic of our outfits and the overall theme of our day.

What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?

The most important aspect of planning our wedding was ensuring that everything felt personal, thoughtful, and true to us as a couple. From the small details like renaming all the cocktails in a fun way that ties into our personalities, to designing all of our wedding stationery, we wanted every element to feel intentional. Each detail was carefully thought out to tell our story and make the day feel uniquely ours. Balancing all of this with a tight timeline, while also considering our guests’ experience, made the planning both challenging and rewarding. Ultimately, it was about celebrating in a way that felt meaningful, fun, and reflective of who we are together.

Were there any elements that were important for you to incorporate?

It was really important for us to use our wedding as a way to bring together the different parts of our lives. Since we don’t live close to our immediate family, this was a rare opportunity for them to see us in our adult lives—our routines, our community, and the city we call home. We wanted them to experience the things we love and get a glimpse into who we are now.

At the same time, it was equally meaningful for our close friends to meet our family and see us on a more personal level. It was such a special feeling to have everyone we love in one place, sharing stories, laughter, and creating memories together. That connection between our family and friends was one of the most meaningful elements of the day.

We also wanted to incorporate a little bit of “us” into every detail of the day. Our wedding planner, Nicole Amarise, suggested incorporating elements of our Indonesian culture, which we loved. This showed up in small but meaningful ways, like using batik fabric and having an Indonesian dessert table spread.

We also wanted to highlight the talents of our amazing friends, who played a huge role in making the day feel like a dream. From DJing and projection mapping at the after-party to bartending and crafting custom cocktails, their contributions added such a personal touch. Even our wedding giveaways were a collaboration—Chinese takeout boxes filled with custom macarons made by our baker friend and fortune cookies with personalized messages.

Any tips for couples getting married?

Wedding planning can feel overwhelming, so it’s important to support each other and remember you’re in this together. Choose vendors you connect with and trust their expertise. Letting them handle the details will help you feel more relaxed and confident. On the big day, everything will go by so quickly—take a moment to soak it all in and enjoy every second with your loved ones.

Are there any vendors that you would like to tell us a little more about?

We were incredibly fortunate to work with such amazing vendors who truly brought our vision to life. Nicole Amarise, our wedding planner, was absolutely incredible. From the very beginning, she helped us craft a wedding day that felt deeply personal and reflective of who we are. She had so many thoughtful ideas, and she was always there to support us with kindness and professionalism. Nicole’s attention to detail and ability to keep everything running smoothly made the day feel effortless, allowing us to fully enjoy the moment. We couldn’t have done it without her, and we’re so grateful for her dedication and care.

Lukas Korynta, our photographer, captured the day in a way that exceeded all our expectations. His style was exactly what we were looking for—photos that feel warm, rich, and artful, while also capturing the moments so beautifully.

Found Floral, our florist, did an incredible job with the arrangements. For the ceremony, they created a whimsical forest pastel vibe that perfectly complemented the setting. For the reception, the arrangements were vibrant and South East Asian-inspired, capturing the richness of the day so beautifully.

Ben Bloom , our videographer, brought such a unique touch by shooting everything on film. His work has such a timeless, dreamy quality, and it perfectly preserved the feeling of the day in a way we’ll treasure forever.
