Real Wedding | Juyoung & Dohyung

Tell us a little about yourselves!

Hello, we are Dohyung and Juyoung, living in Seoul, South Korea.

Dohyung works as a software engineer, and Juyoung runs an object shop called Ochiv. We have a love for art, music, nature, things that last, and all beautiful things. We have been together for 5 years and got married on September 10, 2024, in Ravello, Italy.

Why did you decide to get married where you did?

We didn’t want to have the same old cookie-cutter wedding everybody else had in Korea. A standardized, impersonal wedding, where we would invite tons of people not even that close to us. We wanted a wedding that really meant something for us, resembled us and wanted the wedding day to last in our memories for a lifetime.

Juyoung often travels to Italy for work and has always loved the culture and the beautiful antique places there. Over time, we both felt that it would be wonderful to have a small wedding in Italy, a place we both love, with our family, in a meaningful location. That’s how we ended up choosing Ravello, for our wedding, where the beauty of nature and antique charm coexist.

How many guests did you have?

There were a total of 6 guests from both families.

What was your budget?

 35,000 Euros.

Tell us about your outfits.

We wanted to create a natural wedding look that blended seamlessly with the space in Ravello.

Juyoung chose a unique silk dress with elegant organza details that wasn't too flashy or uncomfortable, and added gold accents with jewelry, hair accessories, and wedding shoes.

Dohyung selected a navy pinstripe suit to achieve a look that was both casual and classic. Since it was an outdoor wedding, we also chose a bouquet and boutonniere that would complement the surrounding plants.

We wanted everything to feel comfortable and natural, without straying too far from our usual style.

What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?

More than anything, we hoped for a blessed day and an atmosphere where everyone could feel comfortable and full of smiles. On that day, we focused only on being happy and enjoying the moment, knowing it was a special day and a once in a lifetime moment.

However, the wedding turned out to be even more perfect than we had expected. When we were walking around the Ravello square with Francesca Angrisano for our photo shoot, we received congratulations from everyone in the square. And most importantly, since it was an outdoor wedding, we hoped it wouldn't rain. On the morning of the wedding, there was light drizzle, but just as the ceremony began, a rainbow appeared as if by magic. It was a day that felt like something out of a movie, everything was perfect.

Any tips for couples getting married?

On the wedding day, the most important thing is just enjoying every moment. Since it’s a special day for the couple, I would say to simply enjoy the moment and be the happiest people in the world.
