Tell us a little about yourselves!
We’re Theresa and Chris, and we live on Victoria’s Surf Coast in Australia. Outside our busy jobs we share a love of surfing.
Why did you decide to get married where you did?
Tasmania was far enough for an elopement but close enough to not worry about pandemic lockdowns. Chris had visited Tasmania many times prior chasing swell. His experience landed us at our venue, The Point, an architectural showpiece that overlooks a popular surf break. Theresa had never been to Tasmania, so was keen to explore somewhere new.
How many guests did you have?
Just the two of us.
Tell us about your outfits.
We opted for a classic black and white colour palette – minimal, timeless yet contemporary. Theresa wore a gown by Prea James, an Australian designer, while Chris sourced his suit locally from Geelong.
What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?
We chose to elope for many reasons. It was essential the ceremony was stress-free, relaxed and fun.
Were there any elements that were important for you to incorporate?
Tasmania’s weather is wild and unpredictable. December is considered the windiest month, so to capture this, choice of gown, veil and hairstyle were considered.
Any tips for couples getting married?
Forget about everyone else’s expectations; focus on what makes the two of you happy.
Are there any vendors that you would like to tell us a little more about?
The entire team worked together to deliver a perfect intimate ceremony just for two. Big thanks to our planner and stylist Gelisa, from Dear Leone, who carefully curated our vision through thoughtful styling and coordination. Our photographer, Chloe May, captured our day with poetic magic. We’ll cherish these photographs for the rest of our days.
