Tell us a little about yourselves!
Our journey began in 2018. Our first meeting wasn’t just about confirming chemistry—it turned into a spirited debate about the future of humanity, AI, life, and whether time travel might finally help us curate the perfect playlist. By the end of the night, we knew we were destined to explore not just the mysteries of the universe but also the mysteries of each other’s hearts.
What began as a simple online match has blossomed into a life enriched by art, music, and a love that grows deeper with each passing day. Together, we’ve explored new cultures, busked in cities far and near, and embraced hobbies like dancing, skiing, and working out. Now, as we embark on this next chapter, our hearts are brimming with excitement and anticipation for all the adventures yet to come.
Why did you decide to get married where you did?
We had just bought our house right before the wedding, and while it was new to us, it already felt like home. It symbolized the start of this exciting new chapter in our lives, so we thought, why not begin our marriage in the very place where we’ll build our future together? It felt personal, meaningful, and the perfect setting to celebrate our love with the people who mean the most to us.
How many guests did you have?
What was your budget?
Around $30,000.
Tell us about your outfits.
The tux exuded Great Gatsby vibes with its sharp ivory blazer, while the wedding dress was an elegant blend of simplicity and style channeling vintage goddess.
What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?
The most important aspect of planning our wedding was finding a way to include Hamed’s parents, who couldn’t be there in person. Ensuring we had a great audio and visual setup was a top priority so they could still feel connected and share in the celebration. Beyond that, we wanted to create a day that was as meaningful as it was memorable. Our ceremony was absolutely beautiful, filled with heartfelt moments that reflected our love and commitment. And of course, we couldn’t skip mentioning our entrance dance, a lively mix of different styles that had everyone smiling, cheering, and maybe even attempting to join in! Great food and music were also high on the list because we wanted the celebration to be as joyful and unforgettable for our guests as it was for us.
Were there any elements that were important for you to incorporate?
It was important to us to showcase both our cultures - Iranian and American. We incorporated the “Sofreh Aghd” which is a symbolic Persian wedding spread with items like a mirror, candles, sugar cones, and fruits, representing blessings, love, and prosperity. For the American part we incorporated the vows. And of course dance! For our first dance we did four types of dance - Salsa, Tango, Bachata and Persian.
