Tell us a little about yourselves!
We first met in San Diego on the beach when we were both out with friends. I lived in LA at the time. We chatted and then did not speak for a year. The next time we chatted, Stevie invited me to Mexico for a wedding and that was our first date. We have been together ever since and have been traveling ever since. Now we live in La Jolla with our Golden Retriever. I am a flight attendant and Stevie is in Consumer Electronics.
Why did you decide to get married where you did?
We have always loved to travel. Our first date was in Mexico. We like to keep the tradition going, so every year we try and go to a couple places. We went to Greece in 2021 and fell in love. Stevie is half Greek so it just made sense to have our wedding in one of the most beautiful places with the best food.
How many guests did you have?
30. We wanted to keep it very intimate since we had a large engagement party of about 150 people. We only invited our immediate family and our best friends. We could not have loved it more.
What was your budget?
Our budget was around 55,000.
Tell us about your outfits.
I wore a Helsa dress for our welcome party while Steve wore a Sandro suit.
My wedding dress was Kim Kassas Couture and I knew it was the perfect dress the second I put it on. It was only the 5th dress I tried on. With the shoes I knew I wanted something a little different. As my dress wasn't a pure white, I couldn't get white shoes - and I loved the blue Magda Butrym shoes.
Stevie went with a custom white suit to complement the backdrop and flowers. I obviously picked that part!
What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?
We wanted our planning to not be stressful at all and take the fun out of planning. Our planner knew all of the best vendors and we knew our photographer was going to be amazing since we had worked with her for our engagement party. Since it was a small amount of people and we stayed at the hotel the entire time and rented out the whole area it was simple and easy. We didn't need to move around or get transportation. We wouldn't have had it any other way.
Any tips for couples getting married?
It's your wedding. As long as you're having fun it doesn't matter. You are the guest of honor not your guests.
