Tell us a little about yourselves!
Rohan has his own business called Quarterproof. He was once on Dragons Den, alongside his Co-Founder Fabian. Rohan is a twin and one of three brothers, all whom rapped 21Seconds by So Solid Crew at the Wedding.
Grace is a Fashion Stylist, Image Consultant and in lockdown, started the second-hand wedding business, The Loop with her Co-Founder Abi Gadsby. Both of their wedding dresses have sold on to new clients since their weddings.
Why did you decide to get married where you did?
There were two weddings. The first, an Indian ceremony at the Bombay Brasserie in London in May, but Grace’s parents farm in Suffolk was the perfect celebration for their official wedding day - the 7th September 2024. We wanted to get married here as it provided the perfect setting for the celebration and meant so much to the Richmond family. The ceremony was by the pond, the reception on the lawn and then the dinner and dancing in their barn. All very easy, laid back affair. All of the flowers used for the bouquets, flower garlands, decoration were from the farm itself, or from local friends gardens. Grace wanted all the colours to be green and white, very simple and plain and that suited the darm in September perfectly.
The dress code was ‘Formentera Chic’ an ode to the Richmond family’s favourite place.
My (Grace's) father-brought it all together on the day. Special kudos for the lawn, which no one could stop talking about! Also my sister Georgia, for feeding everyone in the lead up to the big day, she kept everyone fed and watered all day and night!
How many guests did you have?
165 people. Our day was captured by Nina Gorshunova.
What was your budget?
As little as possible!
Tell us about your outfits.
Rohan and his brothers wore Sirplus. Rohan is friendly with the brand and wore some of their pieces for some content he did around his own company and the Sirplus brand.
Grace designed her own wedding dress, sketching up the designs in March of 2024. She was keen to honour her values of buying something second hand, but she couldn’t find anything she absolutely loved. The stylist in her wanted to also have a go at designing and creating something a go. She sketched up the designs and built a mood board, took it to Jenny Packham, who she worked with previously, and Jenny and her brilliant team brought it to life. Grace then sold her dress via her business - it sold from the site within 48 hours.
What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?
The music - this had to be the most reflective of what we both love - which was R&B, Rap and Garage. Our DJ was brilliant - DJ Beckz let our friend, Alice, MC all night and also let Rohan and his brothers rap several different songs. The dance floor was heaving all night. That was the main aim of our wedding, for people to never leave the dance floor. Although the music did slightly alienate the oldies though!
Were there any elements that were important for you to incorporate?
Creating our own ceremony that felt super personal to us as a couple, and that wasn’t boring. Grace came down the isle to Blinded By Your Grace by Stormzy, sung by Kings Voices Gospel Choir. Our celebrant and friend, India, created all of the ceremony, putting together the most personal, special and eloquent vows too! She had everyone in tears. We chose the other music, the readings and brought it all together. It was very special, and actually the main thing people spoke about after the wedding.
Any tips for couples getting married?
Don’t sweat the small stuff, there will always be things that go wrong on the day and that’s what makes it even better to remember.
Are there any vendors that you would like to tell us a little more about?
My sister Freya Richmond created excellent Save The Dates which are really special and unique.
