What inspires you?
When I was younger, I dreamed of being a fashion designer. My family would often find me with my sketches and my next big ‘clothing line’. Now I am heavily influenced by textiles, fashion and how a beautiful piece can make people feel. So naturally I find myself drawn to bellowing fabrics, lush velvets and layered textiles, which you see a lot of in my work.
I also find myself heavily inspired by modern art, photography, architecture, books, colours and new places. When I travel you will find me with my camera, photographing anything that catches my eye and makes my heart happy. I’ll later look back at my images and see how an element of that frame will inspire a creative decision and/or look when bringing a design to life.
What motivates you to do what you do?
It’s about blending creative freedom with the flexibility that comes from running a business. My goal is pursuing my passions whilst also wanting to inspire my own children to do the same. They forever are, the single greatest driving force in my life and I hope they learn that they too can chase their own dreams as well.
Where would you love to travel to for work?
I recently returned from a trip to Morocco with my family. My first visit to Morocco was at the age of 19, and the memories were still so vivid. I was curious to see if it had changed but it remained remarkably true to my recollections and even exceeded my expectations.
To design and curate a Moroccan wedding would be a dream. The combination of vibrant colours, stunning architecture and Moroccan décor all resonate with me deeply. I can envision not only the breathtaking aesthetics, but also the music and fragrances infusing the atmosphere and transporting guests to an entirely new experience.
Who is your dream client?
I feel like I attract my dream clients already. Our couples are easy going, here for a good
time and deeply appreciative of beautiful and modern details. They trust me whole heartedly with their special day and allow us to love on them whilst giving us full creative freedom. This is a rare gift and I feel very grateful for our Dear Leone lovers.
What is your advice to couples getting married?
Surrender.
While every couple will need to be involved in some planning before their wedding day, it’s crucial to fully embrace the natural moments when the day arrives. Be present with your loved ones, with each other and absorb it all knowing your dependable team is there to guide you.
Understand that whatever unfolds on your big day, whether it’s bad weather or unexpected changes, it’s all part of the organic flow meant to be.
