Open the Door Events designs sensorial weddings in Europe. We work closely with just eight couples every season to create experiences that reflect our couples' way of being.
What would you like couples to know about Open The Door Events?
We design events that feel like our couples, helping them stay true to who they are while sharing ways to elevate the experience and create experiential moments that engage their guests, all in alignment with their budget.
Where are you based?
We are based in Southern Spain, but work in Italy and Portugal too.
Do you travel for weddings?
Yes! Even though we mainly work in Europe, if the right event called to us, we wouldn’t miss it!
How would you describe your style?
Immersive, elegant, laid-back, elevated, sensorial, otherworldly.
What is your most memorable career moment?
One of our clients told us that they were more in love than ever on their wedding day because their wedding planning journey was so relaxed and enjoyable.
What inspires you?
Nature, good conversations, the sky, my mum’s cooking, watching my dogs play, a walk through an art gallery, love stories, most books, live music, kind people.
What motivates you to do what you do?
I love bringing people together—it’s something I’ve done for as long as I can remember. And, I have always been sensitive to the spaces I find myself in, I notice lighting, noise, temperature, scents, layouts, style and I’ve taken all these ‘sensitivities’ to create breathtaking sensory-rich settings that ground people. We’re able to be more present when we engage our senses and feel comfortable in the space we are in. And when we are present, time slows down. That’s what motivates us: reconnecting loved ones and giving them time to be together.

India.
Who is your dream client?
Those who value the aesthetic and style of their wedding and give us the freedom to get creative.
What is your advice to couples getting married?
Trust your vendors—and give them the freedom to work their magic.
It’s natural to want to be in control of your wedding, but micromanaging can sometimes hold back the creative flow. When vendors feel restricted, they might play it safe rather than taking the risks that lead to something better than you imagined. By letting go a little and trusting the experts you’ve chosen, you create space for creativity and experimentation and you also create more time for yourself.
