The Experialist by Betsaida Fernández is a boutique wedding planning business, specialising in organising and designing exclusive destination weddings in Spain, including Barcelona and Catalonia, as well as Italy. Tell us about The Experialist!

I do not offer standard packages or copy-paste solutions, but a 100% personalized planning and design service for boutique weddings and elopements. With a fashion background, my strength is the event design and styling, which allows me to create unique luxury weddings with a chic and contemporary touch and a magical atmosphere.

What would you like couples to know about you?

For me, every couple is unique and so their wedding must also be. That’s why, although I always try to leave my hallmark of elegance, style and sophistication in every wedding, I never forget to listen to each couple and reflect their personal style in the design and development of their wedding. This, together with a transparent and direct-communication process, makes the planning a smooth and enjoyable process.

The Experialist is the specialist in experiences, not only to make guests live a memorable event, but also to make the couple enjoy the journey. A wedding is a life experience, and I will be there to make it easier, enjoyable, personalized and sophisticated.

Where are you based?

I am based in sunny Barcelona but work all over Spain and Italy. Italy is my second home!

How would you describe your style?

I would describe The Experialist’s designs as stylish, effortlessly chic, harmonious, and personalised.

What is your most memorable career moment?

Every time that a couple thanks me for having made their dream wedding come true, and guests congratulate me for the job done.

What inspires you?

I find inspiration for developing my creativity in theatre, dance, cinema, visual arts, interior design, architecture and creative gastronomy. Only searching on social media or online is not enough, I must go out! I always need to get out there to find the spark for a great idea.

What motivates you to do what you do?

Seeing the final result after transforming a space is magical. But, definitely, love and the emotional moments are the key. When a groom’s eyes water when he first sees his partner, a bride gets emotional reading her vows or a parent hugs their daughter or son lovingly during a dance. Everything makes sense then.

How would you describe your working style?

The Experialist’s work philosophy is based in quality services, professionalism, stylish creativity and transparency. I want the couples to feel confident and free with me. I am here to make the experience easy-going, enjoyable and cool! For me, being a wedding planner means being a person couples can trust.

Do you have custom packages according to individual needs?

Of course! I dedicate many hours to each wedding due to the high level of quality and personalization that I want to offer, therefore, I only organize a maximum of eight weddings per year in order to provide couples with the service they deserve.

Who is your dream client?

Couples who are madly in love and want to share their happiness with their guests. Those that want to reflect their love through an elegant, harmonious and artistic design. To achieve that, confidence and communication is absolutely necessary, so I welcome couples who are willing to tell me their story and trust my professionalism and taste to create a once in a lifetime experience.

What is your advice to couples getting married?

Enjoy every moment, because time flies away and the little special moments, details that will awaken your senses, ephemeral feelings and shows of affection is what you will remember. Also, think about what is important for you and what will make you happy on your wedding day (without forgetting a comfortable experience for your guests, of course), because making what others expect won’t make the experience memorable.
